Rihanna is Bringing Her Savage X Fenty Fashion Show to Your TV

Looking for a fashion show to watch on TV? Rihanna has you covered. According to a just-posted Instagram, the singer turned designer is planning a major event for her Savage X Fenty collection that will also be streamed on Amazon Prime Video on September 20. “We are working on creating the most bold, sexy, super-energetic experience you can imagine!” she wrote. The excitement was instant, with commenters instantly flooding the post with the flame emoji.

This September’s Savage X Fenty broadcast will be Rihanna’s second event for the brand since its launch in 2017. One year ago she held a show at the Brooklyn Navy Yard that opened with modern dancers followed by the likes of Gigi Hadid, Paloma Elsesser, and Duckie Thot in some of the sexiest lingerie to ever walk a NYFW runway. Infamously, the show was closed by a nine-month-pregnant Slick Woods in nothing but a thong, pasties, and teensy bodysuit. Immediately after her runway turn, Woods went into labor and delivered her son, Saphir.

Produced by the unscripted arm of Endeavor Content and Amazon, this year’s documentary is expected to offer similar levels of drama as well as behind-the-scenes access to the making of the collection. “Rihanna has conquered the worlds of music, film, beauty, and fashion. She has reinvented the idea of what fashionable lingerie should be for a global customer. The brand authentically reflects empowering statements of inclusivity, body positivity, and fun! The Savage X Fenty show promises to be a groundbreaking and truly unique experience, and we’re thrilled to give our global customers an exclusive front-row seat,” said Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke in a release.

This is all good and well, but the question remains: Is this a proper fashion show? And if yes, when and where is it? A press release hints at a potential New York Fashion Week activation, noting that the documentary is in partnership with NYFW: The Shows, IMG’s proprietary New York Fashion Week programming. While the CFDA’s new five-day schedule is already pretty jam-packed with runway shows and events, it’s obvious to say: We’ll make time for Rihanna.

Rihanna Will Stage a Savage x Fenty Show at New York Fashion Week

Grab your wineglasses, because Rihanna is back! After taking a season off from New York Fashion Week, everyone’s favorite singer turned fashion impresario is officially returning to the #NYFW schedule. This time, she’s bringing her line of lingerie and intimate accessories to the runway with a Savage x Fenty presentation on September 12.

In what a press release describes as an “immersive experience,” the Savage x Fenty event will showcase Rihanna’s new collection in a see-now-buy-now format, with the Fall range immediately available to shop at SavageX.com. Pop-ups in New York, at the Mall of America, and in two as-yet-unannounced locations will follow. While few details are available about the nature of the event or the collection, you can bet that many of Rihanna’s favorite muses will be there, promoting body positivity, female sexuality, and killer style.

With a 7:30 p.m. time slot, Rihanna’s inaugural lingerie presentation will become the unofficial closer of NYFW, following the 6:00 p.m. Marc Jacobs show. The exact location has not been revealed, but Rihanna is set on bringing the fashion crowd out of Manhattan. To Brooklyn! That’s one way to top pink sand dunes and backflipping BMX riders.

Katy Perry, Rihanna And Demi Lovato Win Big

Katy Perry made her presence felt at the 2012 People's Choice Awards on Wednesday (Jan. 11). Never mind that she wasn't even there. The "Firework" singer earned five trophies at the annual fan-driven affair, including favorite female artist and music video, for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).
Perry also grabbed favorite tour headliner, favorite song ("E.T.") and to round things out she even won favorite TV guest star for her cameo on the CBS hit sitcom "How I Met Your Mother."

She was up for seven awards, spanning music, film and TV, but canceled ( in a tweet) two days before the ceremony. It would've been her first public appearance since the announcement of her divorce from actor and comedian Russell Brand and possibly could have helped the star in her quest to score her sixth No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
Meanwhile, Bruno Mars was honored with favorite male artist, bestingJustin Bieber and Blake Shelton, among others.
Early on Demi Lovato, in a shock red dress and surrounded by a Cheap Trick-inspired checkerboard set, delivered a rousing performance of her single "Give Your Heart a Break." She then won favorite pop artist, in a surprise, besting music royalty Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Lovato was the only nominee who attended (free pass, Beyonce).
Almost immediately a Twitter hashtag emerged -- "Congrats Demi" -- to toast the singer. "Demi just beat Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Beyonce ..... Is she irrelevant now …?" asked @ibeliebnmemi.
Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" went on to win the favorite album of the year nod at the bash, held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Other genre favorites included Eminem, for hip-hop and Taylor Swift, for country. Fellow country superstar Faith Hill was one of the few musical performers of the night and she delivered a moving performance of her current single, "Come Home."
Rihanna, who just announced her next single will be "Talk That Talk," was deemed favorite R&B artist by voters, topping her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in a bit of unintentional justice. It was a good day for the Barbados-born singer: her "We Found Love" notched its ninth week atop the Hot 100.
Maroon 5 took home favorite band. Lead singer Adam Levine, who is prone to controversial statements on Twitter, kept it simple in his acceptance speech. "This is incredible," he said. "Our fans are the greatest on Earth."
Film and TV categories garnered the majority of attention throughout the night, as is normally the case with the People's Choice Awards, but like previous years there was some crossover among the winners.
"Glee" star Lea Michele bubbled over when she was awarded favorite TV comedy actress, giving all the "Rachel Barrys" of the world a shoutout. "I want to dedicate this to my amazing cast -- my glee club. I'm an only child, and now I have 11 other siblings," she said. "This is for our fans. 'Glee' would be nothing without you guys. This is thanks to you. We're all Rachel Barrys out there, so this ones for you."
Jane Lynch was also up for the award, but the FOX series, about a glee club called New Directions, failed to take home additional hardware throughout the night.
In the favorite TV competition category, the newly revamped "American Idol" outdid "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Voice."
