Choose The Best Theme For A Birthday Party

A Birthday party for the child is almost always funny and also the best parties are full of great food, friends, cake, and plenty of activities for the children to enjoy. Be sure the activities you select are age appropriate so the children don't become frustrated or overwhelmed.

A birthday party theme is really a fun way to celebrate a special interest for you personally or the birthday person. Our adult birthday party supplies feature tableware kits, banners, along with other decorations in a variety of patterns and themes to create decorating quick and easy. You can also design your personal party based on one of our theme parties. A Madison Avenue theme is ideal for Mad Men fans while our Mustache theme is fun for men and women.

Cinderella party - If your tiny tot is a touch baby girl, then this is the best option you opt for. Dress your princess like Cinderella and obtain the tiered cake with lots of vanilla, strawberry and cherries over it. You are able to suggest the invited guests to decorate their kids in the dresses of prince and princess to be able to have a grand 'ballroom party' with children.

Clown party - It could be a laugh riot for those. All kids dressed like clowns would certainly give elders a reason to smile. Your child should be dressed with a big clown hat along with a big nose to give the proper clown look. You may also incorporate your comic ideas to make the invites and also the goodies bag. Even the cake can be created in the shape of a clown's face.

Disco party - This really is one of the most common themes of toddlers parties because it is very exciting for the parents to decorate their little ones in sparkling disco dress inspired through the 70's. You can give your kid a look associated with a famous disco dancer from the era and can also ask the other invited kids to decorate as per their choice. Illuminate the venue with the disco lights and provide an ambiance of the discotheque by playing some groovy music.

Beach party - Great for summers, this party is best suited for outdoors. Not necessary to go to a seaside, but you can give a beach turn to your terrace or garden. Place a baby swimming pool full of water on view area and create some sand dunes for additional exotic beach view. Ask the invited kids to decorate in beach wear and allow them to play with splashes of water.

New Ways Enable You To Enjoy Music

I remember the first cassette mixtape I made, the first CD I purchased, and the first mp3's I downloaded. In the past few years I also remember telling friends about Pandora, and later about a new service called Spotify. All those events changed the way I listened to music — at home, on the go, or while at work. Now I'm wondering if services like Songza, Vevo, and an innovative new album by Bluebrain are about to do that all over again.

Songza

This new music service is catching on like wildfire, and it's easy to see why. Songza takes all the hurt out of figuring out what to listen to by breaking things down into practical, easy-to-choose categories. The music concierge puts together a perpetual playlist based on your mood and time of day — songs for waking up and singing in the shower with, music without lyrics to read or study by, or mellow tunes to relax to after a long day. You're no longer stuck figuring out what band you want your radio based on, you just pick a style and let Songza's music experts handle the rest. Best of all this is all done ad-free through their website or free iPhone app.

Vevo HD

You may be too young to remember this, but a while back there was this television network called MTV. And all day, everyday, the TV station played what its name suggested: music videos! If you enjoyed finding and listening to new music in that format, then Vevo is your ticket. Accessible on the web or through an iPad app, Vevo is simply a huge collection of high quality music videos that you can search through to create your own personal playlists. They've even partnered with a few artists to provide exclusive HD content. I personally enjoy the Airplay feature of the app that'll let you stream videos to your Apple TV to give your next party some visual ambiance.

The National Mall by Bluebrain

Musical duo Bluebrain has really stepped out of the box to provide a whole new experience by releasing the first location-aware album. Designed for use within the bounds of Washington DC's National Mall, the downloadable iPhone app streams tunes from the album based on your GPS location. A walk up the steps of the Lincoln memorial treating you to a different melody than one you'd get as you walk along the edge of the Reflecting pool. The thinking behind this is pure genius, and it may not be long before all our music experiences are based on where we are, who we're with, and what time of day it is.

The Best Entertainment 2012

Actors and Actresses to watch
1. Elizabeth Olsen: The Olsen twins’ younger sister got a head start in 2011 with her impressive performance in “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and she’ll continue the momentum with “Liberal Arts,” written and directed by Josh Radnor. She’ll also appear in the horror flick “Silent House” (March 9) and paranormal thriller “Red Lights.”
2. Gina Carano: How does a mixed martial arts fighter end up as the lead in the Steven Soderbergh spy thriller, “Haywire”? She kicks ass, obviously.
3. Lily Collins: The spawn of “Sussudio” impresario Phil Collins already had her coming-out party in 2011 with roles in “Abduction” and “Priest.” This year the 22-year-old has a starring role in Tarsem Singh’s lighthearted take on the Snow White fairy tale in “Mirror Mirror” (March 16).
4. Andrea Riseborough: Thank Madonna for bringing this English Rose to the forefront in 2012. Riseborough will start off the year with the Madge-directed feature “W.E.” (Feb. 3). She’ll stay front of mind with IRA thriller “Shadow Dancer,” as well as “Disconnect,” co-starring “True Blood” babe Alexander Skarsgard.
5. Taylor Schilling: Though she may’ve been the lead in failed TV show “Mercy” and dead-on-arrival “Atlas Shrugged: Part One,” somebody in Hollywood must have faith in this 27-year-old in order to cast her opposite Zac Efron in the romantic drama “The Lucky One” (April 20). Schilling will also star in Ben Affleck-directed political thriller “Argo.”
6. Josh Hutcherson: This 19- year-old actor has been working steadily, but it’ll be the March 23 release of “The Hunger Games” that makes him a star. While we can’t promise he’ll be the next Robert Pattinson — RPatz will always have a special vampire lair in our hearts — the series’ rabid fan base will give Hutcherson a fast-pass to megastardom.
7. Michael Fassbender: We’re not going to hide our partiality to this 34-year-old Irish-German export. His upcoming spy flick, “Haywire” (Jan. 20), combined with all the awards season buzz he’s been getting for his performance in 2011’s “Shame” will propel Fassbender to A-List by the time his sci-fi film “Prometheus” is released on June 8.
8. Chris Diamantopoulos: We finally learned how to spell Galifianakis, so it’s about time another comedic actor with an impossibly lengthy Greek last name take the scene by storm. The “Up All Night” actor will soon star in “The Three Stooges” (April 13), in which he plays Moe, the only Stooge with a passable haircut.
9. Taylor Kitsch: The “Friday Night Lights” star appears in two huge movies this summer: the sci-fi epic “John Carter,” set on Mars, and “Battleship,” a live-action version of the popular board game.
10. Douglas Booth: Could the role of Romeo in the latest “Ro-meo and Juliet” turn Booth into another Leonardo DiCaprio? With a second starring role alongside Disney princess-turned-stoner Miley Cyrus in “LOL...,” well, we may have found our RPatz replace-ment after all.

Dreamworks Will Give Us Need For Speed Movie In The Future

Movies have been a necessary part of our lives, they may be also the best way to entain us. Until now, movies have developed so many years, and to satisfy our requirement, the technologies are always developing all the time. Now a Need for Speed movie is in the works. Dreamworks has acquired the movie rights to the franchise, and EA will produce along with John Gatins and Mark Sourian. Scott Waugh (Act of Valor) is attached to direct, and the project will be fast-tracked at DreamWorks with a target production start date for early next year, for a 2014 release.

I believe that we all know about Dreamworks on the earth, it can make our all kinds of dreams come true. This time, the speed film won't be based on a specific Need for Speed game, but is planned instead as a "fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise."

"I'm excited about getting back into the creative trenches with John and George Gatins and my partners at EA to bring to life an exhilarating script based on an epic video game that seems to have been made for the movies," said Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks Chairman. "This is a big piece of business for DreamWorks and we are grateful to Frank Gibeau, Pat O'Brien, Kevin Maher and John and George for choosing us to deliver their goods."

"It's fantastic to be working with a team that shares not only our love of cars, but also our passion for creating blockbuster action experiences. This collaboration will be greatly enhanced with the team at DreamWorks -- which is a great home for the Need for Speed franchise," said Patrick Soderlund, Executive Vice President, EA Games Label. Added Pat O'Brien, Vice President of EA Entertainment: "Working with John and George to develop the script has truly been an outstanding experience."

I'm so torn on the idea of this movie. On the one hand, I'm a huge fan of 1970s car movies, but on the other, games based on video games are almost always terrible. I think it's a wise decision to not make the movie based on a specific game, though. Stories for video games and stories for movie are often two different things, so maybe this movie will actually be good. Let's hope it happens.

Which Actress Do You Want To See In The 65th Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet

Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria and Lana Del Rey were among the famous faces on the red carpet at the opening night gala of this year's Cannes Film Festival.

They and a host of other stars were on hand to see Moonrise Kingdom, the new film from US director Wes Anderson, launch the annual cinema showcase.

canne film festival 2012
Bruce Willis, Bill Murray and Britain's Tilda Swinton joined other cast members at the movie's glitzy premiere.

The film is one of 22 in contention for Cannes' prestigious Palme d'Or award.

Reactions to Anderson's latest have been broadly positive, with The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw saluting "a soufflé of strangeness [that] rises superbly".

The Telegraph's David Gritten was similarly effusive, describing it as "a mood elevator of a movie" and "an ideal opener" for this year's event.

Moonrise Kingdom was a suitable curtain-raiser for a festival in which US films and directors are heavily represented.

Speaking at a news conference in Cannes to launch Chinese Zodiac, Chan told reporters: "This will be my last big action movie."

The Hong Kong-born actor, 58, added: "The world is too violent now. I love fighting but I hate violence."

The film, due for release in December, is the third in Chan's Armour of God series.

The first film was released in 1987, with Chan playing the Indiana Jones-style character Asian Hawk.

"I want the audience to know I'm not just about fighting, also I can act. And so, day by day, year by year, I said, 'Right, I'm going to show you the real Jackie Chan.'"

Last year, he starred opposite Will Smith's son Jaden Smith in the remake of The Karate Kid, in the role of Smith's mentor Mr Miyagi.

The 65th edition of the Cannes Film Festival runs from 16 to 27 May 2012.

The great and good of the global film industry are gathered on the French Riviera for the annual event, which sees premieres from Wes Anderson, Ken Loach and David Cronenberg, amongst others.

The BBC's Kev Geoghegan is there, too, reporting on the red carpet glamour and behind-the-scenes deals at the festival.

Much comedy is provided by the supporting cast, in particular Gary Maitland as the sweetly daft Albert.

Roger Allam is perhaps the best-known actor, playing whisky dealer Thaddeus.

In truth, the film could have been made 10 years ago and the use of The Proclaimers' 500 Miles, though a personal favourite, grates a little as there are surely enough contemporary Scottish bands around who could have been used in the soundtrack.

Loach won the Palme d'Or in 2006 and it is unlikely that The Angel's Share will repeat that success.

But its light-hearted tone may lift its appeal for a mainstream audience.

Beyonce Is Accustomed To Getting Awards For Writing Songs

Beyonce
Beyonce is accustomed to getting awards for writing songs, but now she has earned one for writing a magazine piece.

The New York chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists will award Beyonce the first place prize in arts and entertainment in its magazine category for a story she wrote for Essence magazine.

The first-person piece was titled Eat, Play, Love and appeared in the magazine's July 2011 issue. In it, the Grammy winner talks about how taking a break from music changed her life.

Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z had their first child, daughter Blue Ivy, in January. She released her fourth solo album, 4, last year. The 30-year-old `Crazy In Love` hitmaker took a nine-month extended vacation in 2010 to spend time with her family, visit museums, attend concerts and learn how to cook, reported a website.

She documented her experiences for a magazine in a 2011 article titled `Eat, Play, Love`, a play on the title of the book `Eat, Pray, Love` which became a movie starring Hollywood star Julia Roberts.

The piece impressed officials at the New York Association of Black Journalists, who have now honoured the star with a writing prize for her efforts. The singer will be handed the award in the Big Apple on May 15 May.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” Beyonce told People in an exclusive interview for the issue. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

Beyonce joins a list of past Most Beautiful Women honored by People that includes Julia Roberts (13 appearances) and Nicole Kidman. The 30-year-old singer, who was recently named 'the world's most beautiful woman' by Peoplemagazine, looked carefree as she strolled out of her office building with her blonde hair left out in a loose mane while bouncing along in leopard print flat shoes.

After leaving her office, Bey and Jiggaman were seen making their way to a party in an apartment near Central Park, where guests included Jake Gyllenhaal and Sarah Jessica Parker.

During an interview for the magazine which honoured her with the flattering title, Beyonce revealed that since the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy, she has been opting for a more natural look as her husband Jay-Z prefers her that way.

A Whole Year Has Passed Since The Royal Wedding Of Prince William And Catherine Middleton

William and Kate
Catherine Middleton, 29, marries Prince William, 28, at London's Westminster Abbey, as people watch around the world. Her dress, which was kept under wraps until the day of the ceremony, was a lace and satin creation by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. She also wore a silk tulle veil with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers, held in place by a Cartier "halo" tiara, lent to Middleton by Queen Elizabeth II. The bride's diamond drop earrings were a personal gift to Middleton from her parents for her wedding day.

After the ceremony, the couple traveled in the 1902 State Landau carriage back to Buckingham Palace, where they kissed (twice!) for the cheering crowds and royal-watchers around the world from the palace balcony. An afternoon luncheon followed, and then a second reception (with another Alexander McQueen gown) later that evening.

The next day, William and Kate, now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, left Buckingham Palace by helicopter for a private weekend in an undisclosed location. The honeymoon would come a bit later.

Fresh from their honeymoon, Prince William and Kate took on their first royal duties as newlyweds: meeting with President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama. The royal couple met the president and first lady at Buckingham Palace as part of the Obamas' two-day state visit to Britain at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II.

The royal newlyweds return to the Buckingham Palace balcony - the same spot where they kissed for the crowds on their wedding day - to participate in the Trooping the Colour ceremony, the official celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's birthday.

The busy weekend also found William and Kate heading to Windsor, England, to celebrate Prince Philip's 90th birthday with other members of the royal family.

The dress Kate wore during the gathering - a cap-sleeved, caramel-colored frock by British retailer Reiss that retailed for $340, sold out online hours after photos hit the Internet - and it wouldn't be the last time she sparked a shopping frenzy.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge received a rousing welcome at every stop. Trip highlights included the couple celebrating Canada Day on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, making lobster souffle in Montreal, racing in dragon boats on Prince Edward Island, canoeing in the Northwest Territories and donning cowboy hats at the Calgary Stampede in Alberta.

The royal couple departed Canada following their nine-day tour, and traveled to California for a three-day visit in the Los Angeles area. It was Kate's first visit to the United States.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's stay included meeting with British and American entrepreneurs, a polo match in Santa Barbara, a visit to an inner-city school in downtown Los Angeles' Skid Row area and job fair for military veterans, but the highlight was the star-studded, black tie BAFTA Brits to Watch gala at the Belasco Theater. For that event, Kate donned a stunning lavender gown by Alexander McQueen, while William looked dapper in a double-breasted tuxedo.

The former Kate Middleton takes on her first charity role as a royal. She's officially named a patron of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. Her position was approved at a board of trustees meeting on Sept. 29.

The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry is used to raise funds for causes that the princes (and now, Kate) support.

A whole year has passed since The Royal Wedding - and we thought it would be the perfect excuse to take a regal trip down memory lane and look at every photo of Kate and Wills ever. We doubt the royal couple's own photo album is this comprehensive

"She bought the Jesire dress from here - we remember having it in and were really excited when we saw Kate on TV wearing it," a shop assistant told Grazia. "None of the Middletons have ever come into the store though, so Kate must have a secret shopper. Whoever it is, we hope she contunues shopping here!" The boutique, close to Kate's family home in Bucklebury, is also a favourite of Sarah Ferguson, who used to send one of her aides there on bargain hunting trips. And this isn't the first time Kate's demonstrated decidedly thrifty behaviour. She's famously fond of the Great British High Street, and has been seen re-wearing outfits on more than one occasion. Plus, according to Grazia, that blue Missoni coat that she wore during the Fortnum & Mason visit last week was actually picked up at an outlet store in Bicester Village. (We DID think high-end Italian designer was a tad out of character, now it makes sense.)

The Former “Transformers” Star Has Been Tired Of Playing Sexy, Robotic Women

Megan Fox
Almost everyone can agree that Megan Fox has been going through a rough patch recently. Whether she's being accused of having excessive plastic surgery done or being fired for comparing her boss to Hitler, this actress quickly transgressed from being the next big thing, to the next big flop. Sure, she hasn't lost a lot of her dedicated male fans because they still worship her as an incredible sex symbol, but she is a far cry from role model material and has a dwindling acting career. Apparently, all of that is about to change for this Foxy lady. In a recent interview for the September issue of Amica Magazine, the actress claims to revamping her career and starting fresh which includes making some changes in her life. This marks the second report that Megan is pregnant. Just last month, Star Magazine also claimed the actress and Brian were expecting their first child together.

The former “Transformers” star told Access Hollywood at the premiere of “Friends with Kids” in New York City earlier this year that she was hoping to have “at least two, maybe three” children.

She also said she was leaving the timing up to a higher authority. “It’s up to God,” she smiled. “It’s gonna happen when it’s supposed to happen.” Megan already has parenting skills under her belt. She’s been helping Brian raise his son Kassius (his mom is Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo). “I have an 8-year-old, he was 2 at the time, when Megan and I met,” Brian told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover during a visit in 2010. “She helped me raise him and it’s a huge responsibility. There was a lot to it.” Brian went on to call his wife “amazing” and “unique,” and hinted she is – despite her glamorous image – a homebody.

“The most important thing in the world to her is family and private time and not this,” he said in 2010. “We go to these events. She goes to premieres and literally will walk the red carpet, walk out the back door and go home and take off all the stuff and then we’ll go have dinner somewhere or go see a movie.”

Over the past few years Megan Fox has been considered of the sexiest stars in Hollywood/your little brother. But the actress admits it's a title she's a little tired of having and is ready to get in touch with her Hot Funny Girl side rather than just her Hot Girl side. In addition to starring in the recent romantic comedy Friends With Kids (playing a sexy mean girl) the 25-year-old star will next make an appearance in Sacha Baron Cohen’s new comedy The Dictator where she'll play a hooker, once and for all proving to the the world just how versatile an actress she is.

No one would have suspected America's favorite sex symbol would want so badly to be the butt of a joke, but Fox assures fans that she never enjoyed feeling obligated to live up to the serious, sex-vixen image. “I just didn’t know how to handle the attention or make that image work for me," the Jennifer's Bodystar revealed, "I felt I was suddenly living a double life and I was expected to behave a certain way. I just couldn’t be like that."

But it's not just her image Fox is hoping to change, but her fan base and the public's opinion about her, as well. “I think the public can relate to me more easily in these kinds of movies," Fox said, “Doing comedies has been a great change of pace for me and I’m interested to see how audiences react to seeing me in these kinds of films."

Matt Patches has posed the question before asking "Can Megan Fox really pull off being funny?" She certainly seems to think so, but more response to her small role in The Dictator may answer that question to remaining skeptics once and for all. The comedy hits theaters May 16. Hey, eyes down here, buddy!

The actress also seems to be looking a lot healthier these days and has reportedly gained 10 pounds, which looks great on her. While on her strict vegan diet, she appeared to look a little skeletal, but now that she's back to eating more like a normal human she's filled out and is back to looking gorgeous.

Guns N' Roses, Perform At Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

Walking into Cleveland, Ohio's Public Auditorium for the 27th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony last night, it was hard to not think of the Titanic striking an iceberg on the very same day 100 years ago.

In recent days Axl Rose and Rod Stewart, two of the biggest stars entering the Hall of Fame this year, pulled out of the show, making complete reunion performances by the Faces and Guns N' Roses impossible. Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante opted not to come, and the Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch stayed home as he continues to recover from cancer.

One might think that these absences would sink the induction ceremony somewhere deep into the Atlantic Ocean, but it turns out they didn't matter much at all. In fact, it was one of the best Hall of Fame induction ceremonies in recent memory.

"I don't know that it matters who's here tonight, because it's about the music that these bands played," Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan said during his induction speech. Minutes after making that point, McKagan walked over across to the stage to play an explosive three-song set of Guns N' Roses songs with Slash, guitarist Gilby Clarke, Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy and drummers Matt Sorum and Steven Adler.

Fans were screaming out "F*** Axl" through much of the night, but the moment the group launched into "Mr. Brownstone," Rose and Izzy Stradlin's decision to not attend the ceremony was completely forgotten, and this previously unassembled lineup of the band proved they could revive the spirit of GNR on their own. Adler was grinning from ear-to-ear during a note-perfect "Sweet Child O' Mine," and the finale of "Paradise City" had nearly every single person in the audience screaming at the top of their lungs. A powerful singer, Kennedy hit every Axl-patented banshee wail perfectly.

The Faces also soldiered on without their lead singer, recruiting Simply Red's Mick Hucknall to fill his slot. He's done a bunch of shows with the group over the past few years, and he sounds exactly like early 1970s-era Rod Stewart. "Ooh La La" was a lot of fun, but they absolutely destroyed with "Stay With Me." Ron Wood played guitar with fiery passion, almost like he was trying to prove to Mick and Keith that he's in fighting shape for a Rolling Stones tour. Ian McLagan demonstrated that he's still one of the greatest keyboardists in rock and roll, and drummer Kenny Jones still has the chops that got him Keith Moon's old job in the late 1970s. Here's hoping that one day Rod comes to his senses and agrees to a tour with these guys.

The Beastie Boys had no intention of performing without Adam Yauch, so the Roots were joined by Kid Rock and Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes for an incredible medley of Beastie classics, including "Sabotage" and "So What'cha Want." Rock, Black Thought and McCoy all wore matching green Adidas track suits, and they did a great job of channeling the energy and spirit of the groundbreaking trio.

The evening kicked off with a surprise performance by Green Day, who did a bombastic rendition of the American Idiot deep cut "Letterbomb." Few in the audience seemed to know the song, but Billie Joe Armstrong worked the large room like a pro and got everyone pumped for the long night of music and speeches ahead of them. Per tradition, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame co-founder Jann Wenner addressed the crowd early on.

"I believe in the magic of rock and roll," he said. "That magic can set you free. Ladies and gentlemen, tonight you've entered a place where magic happens."

Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill of ZZ Top delivered the first induction speech of the evening, honoring the late blues guitarist Freddie King. King's daughter, Wanda, spoke warmly about her father. "He inspired so many young blues artists," she said. "I remember going to a show when I was 14 and meeting Stevie Ray Vaughan for the first time. He said to my dad, 'How can I play the blues like you?' My dad said, 'If you don't feel the blues, you'll never play the blues.'"

After a smoking blues guitar battle by Gibbons, Joe Bonamassa and Derek Trucks on King songs "Hideaway" and "Going Down," John Mellencamp came onstage to induct Donovan.

"He was my inspiration," Mellencamp said. "I wouldn't just listen to Donovan. I would live Donovan, which means I was stealing all my s*** from Donovan. Other artists -- and you know who you guys are -- called that being inspired." Donovan read a short poem, then played "Catch the Wind" and "Sunshine Superman" before duetting with Mellencamp on "Season of the Witch."

Bette Midler broke down into tears near the end of her speech about Laura Nyro, who died of ovarian cancer in 1997.

"In a world full of imitators saying 'fake it till you make it,' she was a complete original," said Midler. "She was in a league all her own. When you put her records on, you'd think they were made yesterday. She embodies what we all want to be, if only we had the guts...She was an ornament on the Earth. Everyone is so gratified to see this day finally come around at last." Sara Bareilles then honored Nyro with a gorgeous take on "Stoney End" on the piano.

Many non-performers were honored during the ceremony. Carole King inducted Don Kirshner, who was her boss and mentor during her days as a Brill Building songwriter in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Darlene Love honored the late record executive with an extremely powerful version of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," which she sang with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra. Later in the evening, Robbie Robertson presented the Award For Musical Excellence to Cosimo Matassa, Glyn Jones and Tom Dowd.

In the middle of the evening, the Hall of Fame made up for some past oversights by having Smokey Robinson induct the Blue Caps (who backed Gene Vincent), the Comets (Bill Haley), the Crickets (Buddy Holly), the Famous Flames (James Brown), the Midnighters (Hank Ballard) and the Miracles, who backed Robinson for the first two decades of his career. The surviving members of all six groups took the stage together, and it was very moving to see these largely overlooked musicians finally getting the credit they deserved for their huge role in rock history.

Public Enemy frontman Chuck D and LL Cool J teamed up to induct the Beastie Boys. "They still are one of the greatest live acts in music," said Chuck D. "They challenged the conventions in the music business and made up their own rules about what it means to be world class hip-hop cats...They always insisted (on) maturing as musicians and human beings." LL Cool J said that he owes his entire career to the Beasties. "I wouldn't be here today without them," he said. "The Beastie Boys actually played my demo for Rick Rubin in his NYU dorm room. A lot of people don't know that."

Adam Horowitz read the audience a letter from Yauch. "I'd like to dedicate this to my brothers Adam and Mike," he wrote. "They walked the globe with me. It's also for anyone who has ever been touched by our band. This induction is as much ours as it is yours."

Green Day initially seemed like a slightly odd choice to induct Guns N' Roses, but Billie Joe Armstong spoke extremely eloquently about group. "'Appetite For Destruction' is the greatest debut album of all time," he said. "Every song hits hard on all emotion levels and takes you on a journey through the seedy underworld of Los Angeles in brutal sequence...The thing that set them apart from everybody else was guts, heart and soul. Most important, they told the truth."

Not a single member of Guns N' Roses mentioned Axl Rose by name in their speech. Matt Sorum gently teased Steven Adler for somehow managing to get fired from Guns N' Roses for a drug addiction, and Adler gave a surprisingly brief speech that culminated with him quoting "We Are the Champions" by Queen. Slash admitted that all the drama building up to the ceremony almost caused him to bail, but his wife ultimately talked him into attending. Keyboardist Dizzy Reed and guitarist Izzy Stradlin opted not to come.

Jennifer Lopez Takes Casper Smart Shopping On His Birthday

'We hope Beau has the happiest Birthday Beau ever has!' Jennifer Lopez tweeted at her toy-boy lover rather ominously today. It sounds as though she's keen for the rest of his anniversaries - and there should be many, considering he is just 25 - to be less enjoyable.

But what she lacks with tweetual precision, Jennifer,42, no doubt makes up for with generosity as she took Smart shopping in Beverly Hills.

It isn't clear if she was treating her man to some gifts, though it's likely, but we're sure Lopez wouldn't want to be branded a 'sugar mommy.'The night before, JLo and Casper attended the Planet Dailies and Mixology 101 grand opening after the American Idol live results show.

But neither pair looked like they were suffering from a sore head, meaning the celebrations are sure to be continuing tonight. Earlier this week the pair were spotted with her three-year-old twins Max and Emme at the Grove in Hollywood.

The I'm Into You singer decided to dress down for the outing wearing a matching white tracksuit emblazoned with the words 'Peace' down one leg, which she teamed with a pair of black trainers and sunglasses. She held little Max's hand, while a male assistant carried Emme into the Easter house where they sat alongside the large white bunny rabbit.

Touchy feely Casper Smart gets a good handful of girlfriend J-Lo's famous derrière in her steamy Dance Again video.'I wanted to save you!' Jennifer Lopez is outvoted as her favourite contestant DeAndre Brackensick is sent home on American Idol

Keep in touch with the latest showbiz gossip by following the Daily Mail's Showbiz Twitter page. Casper also looked casual in a rust coloured T-shirt and jeans which showed off his tattoos as he strolled behind the American Idol judge.

Once inside, Jennifer cuddled up to little Max as he unwrapped some Easter treats, while Emme looked happy in her pretty red and white printed top and shorts.

At one point, Jennifer stood behind the video camera to help capture the special moment and seemed to enjoy her relaxing day out before getting back to business on American Idol.

The singer's ex-husband Marc Anthony will no doubt find it hard to look at photos of Casper spending more time with his children.

He may also want to avoid watching Jennifer's latest music video for her upcoming single Dance Again. The mother-of-two has repeated history by asking her beau to star in it with her, but Casper appears to be getting much closer to the star than Ben Affleck did in her video for Jenny From The Block.

The video sees Jennifer strut around in a strapless black basque and heels while a shirtless Casper dances an intimate number with his girlfriend.

And the couple couldn't seem to keep their hands off each other as they cavorted in several scenes together.

The steamy video also features her crawling over a menagerie of scantily clad models in a room and dancing enthusiastically with Casper while covered in gold glitter.

Jessica Sanchez Performs In Front Of The "American Idol"

The sing-off on this week's "American Idol" doubled as a warning - to the viewers. On Wednesday's show, contestants had to pick a song by the artist they've modeled themselves after. In other words, they showcased the style and sound they'll most likely pursue on CD should they take the prize.

Let's just say, for the most part, it wasn't a promising tease. Many performances showed just how far these young singers fall into the shadow of their own idols - including some of the season's most favored players. Jessica Sanchez owns one of the season's burliest voices. But her take on a song by her clear role model, Beyonce, showed too much similarity in their timbres and phrasing, making Sanchez's voice seem redundant. This, despite the fact she switched up the arrangement of the bootylicious song she chose, "Sweet Dreams."

Likewise, judges' pet Philip Phillips sounded like a frustrated understudy for Dave Matthews (despite singing a Johnny Lang song, "Still Raining").

Jason Ledet, who owns the churchiest shout of the season, showed an unfortunate taste for sap by choosing to Mariah Carey kitschy version of "Without You." It's gooeyness undermined his gospel brilliance.

Other singers made choices that revealed similarly unfortunate taste. Colton Dixon selected Lifehouse's sub-grunge ballad, which he murmured through, while Hollie Cavanagh offered a duller xerox of an earlier Idol champ, Carrie Underwood, on her "Jesus Take The Wheel." Fellow country fan Skylar Laine showed more distinction on Miranda Lambert's "Gunpowder and Lead," but she still too closely recalled the original's spunk.

Ironically, some of the least favored contenders showed the most moxie. Heejun Han, having been humbled by the drubbing he took over his jokey performance last week, played it straight on Leon Russell's "A Song For You," with encouraging results. An even more dramatic turn around came for Deandre Brackensick, who'd seemed listless in recent weeks. On Wednesday, he returned to his trademark falsetto, soaring Eric Benet's "Sometimes I Cry" to the sky.

But the top jaw-dropper of the night came from Elise Testone. While she'd formally excelled at soulful jazz, this time she performed Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" with a stone cold rocker's guts. Her performance showed the kind of flexibility and canny that makes an audience not just passively watch you on TV but actively buy your work on CD.

The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 And Beyond

"The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond," the companion soundtrack to the year's most highly anticipated film, is a mostly impressive collection of songs.

Esteemed producer T-Bone Burnett certainly succeeds in what he routinely does best -- establishing, then maintaining, a specific vibe and sound on the album. It's downcast and dreary, for the most part, and populated by some of the coolest characters in indie music and country.

The album should be a hit with the "Hunger Games" brigade -- which should be good enough to turn it into a multiplatinum sensation. Yet, unlike some of Burnett's other soundtrack works (most notable, "O Brother, Where Art Thou?") I don't believe it can transcend the film and have a life of its own.

The soundtrack gets off to a rough start with the rather bizarre "Abraham's Daughter," which might be the most pretentious thing Arcade Fire has ever recorded — and that's really saying something. Was the band intentionally going for an Enya sings "Game of Thrones" vibe? If so, Arcade Fire definitely nailed it! "Abraham's Daughter" should, however, make the playlist at Dungeons and Dragons parties for years to come.

Thankfully, the soundtrack improves from there, with a star turn by the Secret Sisters (real-life siblings Laura and Lydia Rogers) on "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder." Critics' darling Neko Case is mediocre, as she often is, on "Nothing to Remember" -- providing a rendition that definitely underscores the tune's title.

Taylor Swift is routinely knocked for having a rather weak voice. Yet, that charge seems downright preposterous after listening to the somber "Safe & Sound." (Actually, it seemed preposterous to me long before I heard this track.) Of course, it doesn't hurt when you have the acclaimed Civil Wars on harmonies.

Kid Cudi is one of the top talents in hip-hop, and his "Man on the Moon" series has been epic, but he doesn't live up to his own standards on "The Ruler and the Killer." The song sounds like mediocre Soul Coughing.

The album enters a sweet spot with Track Six, the Punch Brothers' "Dark Days," and remains there through Track 10, Glen Hansard's "Take the Heartland." One of the highlights of that solid stretch is the rambunctious "One Engine" by the Decemberists, the Grammy-nominated troupe that has made a career out of taking complicated concepts and twisting them into tuneful bliss. Another is the Carolina Chocolate Drops' old-timey "Daughter's Lament," which nicely showcases Rhiannon Giddens' memorable voice. The Civil Wars' plaintive "Kingdom Come" is undeniably lovely — but certainly not a track I'd want to listen to multiple times.

After all those hip selections, it was a little weird to see Maroon 5 on the track listing -- I mean, who knew that reality TV star Adam Levine even had a band? OK, I jest. Let's just say, however, that Maroon 5's offering on the soundtrack -- "Come Away to the Water" -- is no "Moves Like Jagger." In fact, I'd wouldn't be surprised if it put ol' Mick to sleep.

The album meanders to a close after that, coasting through a run-of-a-mill Swift track ("Eyes Open"), another snoozer by Low Anthem ("Lover is Childlike") and other mediocrity. By the time the dreary album ended, I found myself longing to put on the "Twilight" soundtrack — at least that offered up a little variety.

Yang Mi The Topic Queen

Mainland actress, Yang Mi's beauty was often questioned whether it was surgically enhanced. Recently, a Weibo user by the name of “Catwalk Lam Si San” claimed to be Yang Mi's former friend, allegedly accompanying the actress to receive plastic surgery in South Korea! The true identity of “Catwalk” remained unknown, but her claims aroused widespread speculation as to whether Yang Mi had indeed received plastic surgery.
Although Catwalk's post was suspected to be fraudulent and perhaps a prank, the message aroused widespread interest in whether Yang Mi had indeed received plastic surgery procedures. Chinese search engines were flooded with visitors querying whether Yang Mi had gone under the knife.

Yang Mi Denies Plastic Surgery
Appearing at a press conference for mainland China idol drama, Chinese Girl, Yang Mi noted that the allegations were false and did not know who Catwalk was. Yang Mi stated, “At first, I minded the rumors. Now I treat myself as a spectator, watching others play a farce. It was not the first time that someone claimed to know me personally. I felt that everyone's reaction was too strong, as I felt that the allegations were too fake!”
Old Photos Hint At Changing Face
Comparing Yang Mi's old photos to her current features, it may be highly possible that she did receive cosmetic enhancements. As a child, Yang Mi exhibited a strong nose hook, which she carried in her late teenage years (see middle photo). However, her recent photos show a more refined nose tip from her former years. Upon closer inspection, it appeared that the shape of Yang Mi's jawline appeared significantly rounder in recent years. In the past, than angle of her jawline was quite sharp, lending to a somewhat squarish effect, while recent photos revealed Yang Mi's jawline (the point where the jaw meets the ears) to be much rounder. Yang Mi was blessed with good looks at birth. The cosmetic procedures done to her nose and jaw did refine her features, improving the overall proportion and symmetry of her face.

Yang Mi Shed Tears of Joy at Hawick Lau’s Love Declaration
Mainland actress,Yang Mi, and boyfriend,Hawick Lau ,appeared together at a promotional event on Valentine's Day. At the event,Yang Mi and Hawick witnessed the exchange of vows between a newlywed couple. At the end of the event, the organizer broadcast a short video clip prepared in advance, in which Hawick declared his love for Yang Mi openly! The lovers hugged and Yang Mi was moved to the verge of tears. The scene was very romantic!
At a separate event, Hawick revealed that his parents were very fond of Yang Mi. Hawick said with a a laugh, “Now even my mother's Mandarin has improved!” As for his Valentine's Day gift for Yang Mi, Hawick maintained that it must be kept confidential to retain an air of mystery!

The Morden Ways To Listen To Music

The way that we listen to music and the devices that we play it on seem to change almost from generation to generation. This article gives us a brief overview of how we've listened to music through the ages.

The gramophone was essentially a record player that played music by running a needle through the groove of the record. Because of the size of the records and the gramophone it was extremely difficult to listen to music on the go with this device and as a result we tended to listen to it just at home or at a public gathering.
The cassette - or tape - was a huge step forward for music as it meant that all of a sudden people could make their own tapes, simply by recording music off the radio or making their own compilations from already owned music. While piracy is an affliction that troubles the music industry even today, back then there was very little that could be done about it and the tape player was the medium by which this crime became widespread.

As the name suggests, a Walkman was a portable device that was small enough to clip onto a belt or even fit in a pocket. Essentially they were simply cassette players - and that is what they played - that were very small and ran on battery power.

The CD player started to become the choice of music player for people in the late eighties and early nineties, primarily because the quality of the music they played was so much better than that used by tapes. Copying music onto a CD was much harder, however, and this meant that often people owned both a CD player and a Walkman so that they could listen to music on the go as well as in better quality at home.

Early in this millennium IPods started popping up, which had a very high quality of sound on them and also gave the owner the ability to mix music as they liked. It also meant that an entire music collection could all of a sudden be stored on one small device, saving the owner plenty of space. Of course, since then people have started to store all their music on their phone as well, as the evolution of music continues.
As you can see there have been huge developments as to how we listen to music over the last few generations: how do you think your children will listen to music?

Chris Paul And How The NBA Rumor Season Feels Dirtier Than Ever

Hey, did you guys hear about Chris Paul?  According to Adrian Wojnarowski’s reports from last night (probably via Paul himself or his agent if I had to take a wild guess) the Clippers and Golden State Warriors could “significantly raise their chances of keeping” Paul past this season if they also sign center Tyson Chandler.  For Wojnarowski and the rumor loving NBA twitterati it is business as usual.  They’re eating it up because this is just the type of “action” that they’ve been missing since the league was locked out.
Vince McMahon would be so proud.  Everyone thinks he is in the wrestling business, but so little of his hours and hours of programming is actual action taking place in the squared circle.  Yes, sometimes the fans are blown away by a “Hell in the Cell,” “Loser Leaves Town,” or “Ladder” match that sets the world on fire because it is such a spectacle, but without behind the scenes drama and serious mic time, there’s no way The Rock would have an acting career in Hollywood today.  Really, that was the only way for wrestling to go once the illusion of competition was dashed by the name “Sports Entertainment.”
The NBA relies on this non-action type of action as well.  Over the last decade the NBA has placed more and more emphasis on the off-season, trade deadlines and draft.  I’ll admit I’ve played with ESPN’s NBA Trade Machine too.  It culminated in this lockout which was supposed to be at least partially about competitive balance. To me, that meant doing away with some of the wilder and more brash kinds of player movement.  Say, the kind where a superstar player holds the league hostage by demanding a trade and then placing additional demands for the promise that he might just sign a long-term deal for the team that is willing to pay the price to bring him in.
It’s a spit in the face to fans.  Those same fans were used like pawns by players and owners throughout the lockout in order to garner sympathy.  Look no further than Hornets fans today to see just how little fans matter to NBA players.
It isn’t a spit in the face to this new breed of “NBA fan” though.  There is a type of fan that just loves player movement and superteams.  Not to pick on one person, but on Twitter last night someone proclaimed to me that CP3 holding the league hostage is preferable to watching him “waste” his career with Hornets teammates like Aaron Gray and Trevor Ariza.  I can’t even comprehend that kind of thinking.

Nicki Minaj Explain "Your Love" Sample

Fans might not know Pop and Oak by name, but they damn sure know their beats. Trey Songz's "Unusual," Big Sean and Kanye West's "Marvin & Chardonnay" and, of course, Nicki Minaj's 2010 single "Your Love" are just a few of the duo's hits.
Now they're up for a Grammy thanks to their work on Nicki's Pink Friday, which is nominated in the Best Rap Album category.
Pop, a Philadelphia native, and his production partner, Oak, who hails from Istanbul, Turkey, have been working as a duo since 2008, back when they first produced "Your Love" for a then-emerging Minaj. " 'Your Love' was a song that didn't make Beam Me Up Scotty, the mixtape," Pop told Mixtape Daily.
Nicki was super-critical of her performance on the song, but after it eventually leaked at the top of 2010, there was no stopping it — well, there was one little obstacle to clear. The original leaked version featured a sample of Annie Lennox's 1995 version of "No More I Love You's," but after the U.K. singer wouldn't clear the sample, Pop and Oak had to come up with an alternative.
"They didn't let us clear the sample, so the version that leaked wasn't the version that got on the radio. We ended up re-creating it," Oak said.
The duo redid the sample a little too well, it seemed. Even after the switch-up, Lennox's lawyers continued to reach out, thinking Nicki's new version of "Your Love" still incorporated the sample. "They thought what they were hearing on the radio was still the master," Oak said.
"Annie Lennox thought she was hearing herself, which was fly as hell," Pop added.

Beyonce and Jay-Z Will Move To Scarsdale

Buh-bye Manhattan, hello Scarsdale? Are Beyonce and Jay-Z packing up Blue Ivy and leaving the bright lights of the Big Apple to hole up in the suburban confines of Scarsdale, N.Y., which is nestled in Westchester County? It seems pretty likely.

The couple purchased the sprawling estate in 2008 and even got their marriage license in the town, so they’ve certainly been scoping out and enjoying the area for several years.
Global Grind posted photos of Casa Carter, which looks to be a rather palatial estate that Bey, Hov and Blue are reportedly staying at. The abode is said to be a modern colonial and is a grand home located in a posh, tony part of town occupied by posh, tony people. The domicile is reportedly 15,000 square feet spread over two acres but that’s not enough for it to qualify as the area’s largest, most luxe home. Even so, it still looks and sounds like a great place to a raise a family.

Blue Ivy likely has an enviable nursery, too. Maybe Bey decided to forgo gender specific pink items and decorate the nursery in Blue in honor of her infant’s name?

We’re not surprised that Blue’s famous parents are nesting in their home with their new daughter. It’s time to bond and to get to know Babyonce!

Katy Perry, Rihanna And Demi Lovato Win Big

Katy Perry made her presence felt at the 2012 People's Choice Awards on Wednesday (Jan. 11). Never mind that she wasn't even there. The "Firework" singer earned five trophies at the annual fan-driven affair, including favorite female artist and music video, for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).
Perry also grabbed favorite tour headliner, favorite song ("E.T.") and to round things out she even won favorite TV guest star for her cameo on the CBS hit sitcom "How I Met Your Mother."

She was up for seven awards, spanning music, film and TV, but canceled ( in a tweet) two days before the ceremony. It would've been her first public appearance since the announcement of her divorce from actor and comedian Russell Brand and possibly could have helped the star in her quest to score her sixth No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
Meanwhile, Bruno Mars was honored with favorite male artist, bestingJustin Bieber and Blake Shelton, among others.
Early on Demi Lovato, in a shock red dress and surrounded by a Cheap Trick-inspired checkerboard set, delivered a rousing performance of her single "Give Your Heart a Break." She then won favorite pop artist, in a surprise, besting music royalty Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Lovato was the only nominee who attended (free pass, Beyonce).
Almost immediately a Twitter hashtag emerged -- "Congrats Demi" -- to toast the singer. "Demi just beat Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Beyonce ..... Is she irrelevant now …?" asked @ibeliebnmemi.
Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" went on to win the favorite album of the year nod at the bash, held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Other genre favorites included Eminem, for hip-hop and Taylor Swift, for country. Fellow country superstar Faith Hill was one of the few musical performers of the night and she delivered a moving performance of her current single, "Come Home."
Rihanna, who just announced her next single will be "Talk That Talk," was deemed favorite R&B artist by voters, topping her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in a bit of unintentional justice. It was a good day for the Barbados-born singer: her "We Found Love" notched its ninth week atop the Hot 100.
Maroon 5 took home favorite band. Lead singer Adam Levine, who is prone to controversial statements on Twitter, kept it simple in his acceptance speech. "This is incredible," he said. "Our fans are the greatest on Earth."
Film and TV categories garnered the majority of attention throughout the night, as is normally the case with the People's Choice Awards, but like previous years there was some crossover among the winners.
"Glee" star Lea Michele bubbled over when she was awarded favorite TV comedy actress, giving all the "Rachel Barrys" of the world a shoutout. "I want to dedicate this to my amazing cast -- my glee club. I'm an only child, and now I have 11 other siblings," she said. "This is for our fans. 'Glee' would be nothing without you guys. This is thanks to you. We're all Rachel Barrys out there, so this ones for you."
Jane Lynch was also up for the award, but the FOX series, about a glee club called New Directions, failed to take home additional hardware throughout the night.
In the favorite TV competition category, the newly revamped "American Idol" outdid "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Voice."
